The Inter-American Highway to get Resurfaced
At last! One of the few critiques we’ve heard about the Panamanian beaches towards Coronado is that the drive can be bumpy. And it’s true, the Inter-American Highway is the section of the Pan-American Highway that connects Nuevo Laredo (Mexico) to Panama. Did you know that if you drive through the Pan-American Highway, you could get from Panama all the way to Alaska? If you were to start from Colombia, you could go all the way down to Chile or Argentina, your choice!
Well, as you can imagine, this road is extremely transited, and it’s been wearing down over the years. Especially in the section that connects the Pacific beaches to Panama City. But thankfully the Panamanian government has taken notice and has announced plans to fix it. While a date hasn’t been set yet, it’s certainly welcome news and could potentially increase the value of properties that surround it. We are personally very glad to hear these news, especially since we welcome many international clients into our Coronado offices.
Additionally, the commute from the city towards the beach will become more comfortable and possibly be faster! Considering that in August construction re-started on the beach corridor highway, big things are coming to the Pacific beaches! This project strives to cut down the time it takes to get from the city to San Carlos, as well as freeing up traffic through the Inter-American Highway for those heading towards Chorrera.
